ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research was to find the effect of different legumes added into complete
feed silage based on sugarcane top on in vitro gas production, dry matter and organic matter
degradability. This research was carried out at Feed and Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Animal
Husbandry, Brawijaya University and Sumber Sekar Field Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry,
Brawijaya University from November 2015 to February 2016. This research used a randomized
complete block design with 4 treatments and 3 groups as replicates, if there was significant different
would be tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test Methode. Complete feed silage treatments were T1
(40% concentrate + 42,8% sugarcane top + 17,2% Calliandra calothyrsus), T2 (40% concentrate +
45,7% sugarcane top + 14,3% Leucaena leucocephala ), T3 (40% concentrate + 45,5% sugarcane top
+ 14,5% Gliricidia sepium) and T4 (40% concentrate + 44,8% sugarcane top + 15,2% Moringa
oleifera ). Cumulative gas production was recorded at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24 and 48 hours of incubation. The

result showed that the values of gas production during 48 hours of incubation show significant different
(P0.05) to the treatments. The
in vitro dry matter degradability and organic matter degradability show significantly different (P
