Potensi Tanaman Aren (Arenga pinnata Merr) Sebagai Tanaman Unggulan di Desa Buluh Awar Kecamatan Sibolangit

HORAS SIMANJUNTAK:Potensi Tanaman Aren (Arenga pinnata Merr) sebagai
Tanaman Unggulan di Desa Buluh Awar Kecamatan Sibolangit. Dibawah
bimbingan RAHMAWATY dan IRAWATI AZHAR.
Tanaman aren merupakan tanaman primadona bagi masyarakat sekitar
hutan dan merupakan salah satu sumber pemasukan bagi mereka.Tujuan
penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi tanaman aren, memetakan sebaran
aren dan mengetahui pemanfaatan aren di Desa Buluh Awar.Pengumpulan
datadilapangan dilakukan dari bulan Aprilsampai Mei 2016.Metode yang
digunakan adalah metode petak sampling dengan teknik sampling berpetakdengan
intensitas sampling 0,5%. Pemetaan sebaran menggunakan software ArcGIS 10.1.
Hasil penelitian diperoleh 77 batang tanaman aren produktif dari 36 petak
contoh dengan kerapatan 56 tanaman per hektar. Pemanfaatan aren berupa daun,
ijuk, tuak, nira manis, gula aren, dan gula semut. Nilai ekonomi tertinggi adalah
pemanfaatan tuak dan terendah adalah pemanfaatan ijuk.

Palm plants is an excellent plant for forest communities and is one of the
sources of income for them. The purpose of this study was to determine the
potential of the palm, to map the distribution of palmand examine the use of palm
in Buluh Awar village. Field data collection was conducted from April to May
2016. The method used is the method of sampling plots with terraced sampling
technique with a sampling intensity of 0.5%. Mapping the distribution using
ArcGIS 10.1 software .
The results were obtained 77 productive stems of palm plants from 36
sample plots with a density of 56 plants per hectare . Utilization in the form of
palm leaves, palm fiber, palm wine, sweet palm sugar, palm sugar, and sugar
ants. The highest economic value is the utilization of palm wine and the lowest is
the use of fibers.
