Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi abu vulkanik
Merapi, pupuk kandang sapi dan tanah mineral terhadap C-organik, N-total, Bahan
Organik dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung hibrida. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan
April hingga Juli 2011 dalam rumah kasa di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian,
Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, dengan ketinggian tempat ± 740 m dpl.
Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktor tunggal dengan
sembilan perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari (I) 0% abu vulkanik
+ 50% pupuk kandang sapi + 50% tanah mineral, (II) 40% abu vulkanik + 10%
pupuk kandang sapi + 50% tanah mineral, (III) 30% abu vulkanik + 20% pupuk
kandang sapi + 50% tanah mineral, (IV) 20% abu vulkanik + 30% pupuk kandang
sapi + 50% tanah mineral, (V) 10% abu vulkanik + 40% pupuk kandang sapi + 50%
tanah mineral, (VI) 40% abu vulkanik + 50% pupuk kandang sapi + 10% tanah
mineral, (VII) 30% abu vulkanik + 50% pupuk kandang sapi + 20% tanah mineral,
(VIII) 20% abu vulkanik + 50% pupuk kandang sapi + 30% tanah mineral, (IX) 10%

abu vulkanik + 50% pupuk kandang sapi + 40% tanah mineral.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi abu vulkanik Merapi, pupuk
kandang sapi dan tanah mineral memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap
C-organik, N-total, Bahan Organik dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung hibrida (Zea
mays). Perlakuan 7 dengan kombinasi 30% abu vulkanik, 50% pupuk kandang sapi
dan 20% tanah mineral memberikan nilai tertinggi terhadap kandungan C-organik
sebesar 4,64%, dan Bahan Organik sebesar 8,08. Sementara perlakuan 9 dengan
kombinasi 10% abu vulkanik merapi, 50% pupuk kandang sapi dan 40% tanah
mineral memberikan nilai tertinggi terhadap kandungan N-total tanah yaitu sebesar
0,64%.

This research was conducted to find out the combination effects of Merapi
volcanic ash, cow manure and mineral soil on Organic Carbon, Total N, Organic
Material and Growth of Maize (Zea mays L.). The pot experiment in a screen house
was carried out from April until July 2011, in the field of Agricultural Faculty,
University of Padjadjaran, Jatinangor at ± 740 m above sea level. The experiment
used a Randomized Block Design which arranged in one factor, nine treatments and
three replications. The nine treatments consisted of (I) 0% volcanic ash + 50% cow
manure + 50% mineral soil, (II) 40% volcanic ash + 10% cow manure + 50% mineral
soil, (III) 30% volcanic ash + 20% cow manure + 50 mineral soil, (IV) 20% volcanic
ash + 30% cow manure + 50% mineral soil, (V) 10% volcanic ash + 40% cow
manure + 50% mineral soil, (VI) 40% volcanic ash + 50% cow manure + 10%
mineral soil, (VII) 30% volcanic ash + 50% cow manure + 20% mineral soil, (VIII)
20% volcanic ash + 50% cow manure + 30% mineral soil and (IX) 10% volcanic ash
+ 50% cow manure + 40% mineral soil.
Results of this research showed that there were highly significant effects of
volcanic ash, cow manure and mineral soil on Organic Carbon, Total N, Organic
Material and Growth of Maize (Zea mays L.). The highest organic carbon (4,6%) and
Organic Material (8,08) was found in combination 7 with 30% volcanic ash, 50%
cow manure and 20% mineral soils. Combination 9 with combination of 10% ash
volcano, 40% cow manure and 50% mineral soil gave a significant scored on Total N

soil is about 0,64%.
