Penelitian lanjutan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh residu kombinasi
abu vulkanik Merapi (AVM), pupuk kandang sapi (PKS) dan tanah mineral
Inceptisol (TM) terhadap C-organik, kapasitas pegang air, kadar air serta bobot
kering pupus tanaman jagung (Zea mays L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan
Februari hingga Mei 2012 di dalam rumah kasa kebun percobaan Fakultas
Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, dengan ketinggian tempat ± 740 m
dpl. Penelitian lanjutan ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktor tunggal
dengan sembilan perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan residu terdiri dari (I)
0% AVM + 50% PKS + 50% TM, (II) 40% AVM + 10% PKS + 50% TM, (III)
30% AVM + 20% PKS + 50% TM, (IV) 20% AVM + 30% PKS + 50% TM, (V)
10% AVM + 40% PKS + 50% TM, (VI) 40% AVM + 50% PKS + 10% TM,
(VII) 30% AVM + 50% PKS + 20% TM, (VIII) 20% AVM + 50% PKS + 30%
TM, (IX) 10% AVM + 50% PKS + 40% TM. Hasil penelitian lanjutan ini
menunjukkan bahwa residu kombinasi AVM, PKS, dan TM memberikan
pengaruh nyata terhadap C-organik, kapasitas pegang air, dan kadar air. Nilai
kadar air (8,33%) dan kapasitas pegang air (86,93%) tertinggi diperoleh pada
residu kombinasi perlakuan 0% AVM + 50% PKS + 50% TM, sedangkan kadar
C-organik tertinggi (6,32%) diperoleh pada residu kombinasi perlakuan 10%
AVM + 50% PKS + 40% TM. Seluruh perlakuan residu kombinasi media tanam
tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap bobot kering pupus tanaman jagung.
Korelasi dan regresi antara C-organik dengan nilai kadar air menunjukan bahwa
17% nilai kadar air dipengaruhi oleh C-organik dan memiliki hubungan sedang
(r=0,4123), sedangkan korelasi dan regresi antara C-organik dengan kapasitas
pegang air menunjukkan bahwa nilai kapasitas pegang air dipengaruhi C-organik
sebesar 57,22% dan memiliki tingkat hubungan kuat (r=0,75).

This advanced research was conducted to find out the residue effects of Merapi
volcanic ash (MVA), cow manure (CM) and Inceptisol mineral soil (MS)
combination on organic carbon, water holding capacity, water content and dry
weigth of maize (Zea mays L.). The polybag experiment in a screen house was
carried out from February until May 2012, in the experiment field of Agriculture
Faculty, University of Padjadjaran, Jatinangor at ± 740 m above sea level. The
experiment used a Randomized Block Design which was arranged in one factor,
nine treatments and three replications. The nine residue treatments consisted of (I)
0% MVA + 50% CM + 50% MS, (II) 40% MVA + 10% CM + 50% MS, (III)
30% MVA + 20% CM + 50% MS, (IV) 20% MVA + 30% CM + 50% MS, (V)
10% MVA + 40% CM + 50% MS, (VI) 40% MVA + 50% CM + 10% MS, (VII)
30% MVA + 50% CM + 20% MS, (VIII) 20% MVA + 50% CM + 30% MS and
(IX) 10% MVA + 50% CM + 40% MS. Results of this advanced research showed
that there were significant effects of residue MVA, CM and MS combination on
organic carbon, water holding capacity and water content. The highest water
content (8.33%) and water holding capacity (86.93%) were found in residue
combination of 0% MVA + 50% CM + 50% mineral soil, whereas the highest
organic carbon (6.32%) was found in combination residue of 10% MVA + 50%
CM + 40% mineral soil. All treatments had no significant effect on increasing of
dry weight of Maize. Correlation and regression between organic carbon and
water content showed that 17% water content was influenced by organic carbon
and had a medium relationship (r=0.4123), whereas correlation and regression
between organic carbon and water holding capacity showed that 57.22% of water
holding capacity value was influenced by organic carbon and had a strong
relationship (r=0.75).
