ABSTRACT
Nutritional status is one measure to assess the development of the baby's health.
Many factors affect the nutritional status of infants, including the mother's
perception about exclusive breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding, mother's
education level and economic status of the family. The purpose of this study was
to examine the relationship between perception and practice of exclusive
breastfeeding and nutritional status of infants aged 0-6 months in Kampar regency
of Riau. This type of research is quantitative with cross sectional design. The
study population was all mothers with babies aged 0-6 months in Kampar regency
2015. The sampling technique is simple random sampling of 120 people.
Collecting data using questionnaires. The data were analyzed using univariate and
bivariate by using chi squrae. The results showed that no significant relationship
between the perception of mothers on exclusive breastfeeding (P value 0.002
