ABSTRACT
Preeclampsia occurs in approximately 5% of all pregnancies, 10% of
pregnancies in the first children and 20-25% in pregnant women with a history of
chronic hypertension before pregnancy. The purpose of this research was to
determine the relationship of maternal history of hypertension on the incidence of
preeclampsia in hospitals Bangkinang 2013). Preeclampsia is a disease with signs
of hypertension, edema and proteinuria that arise because of pregnancy, the
disease usually occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy, but may occur earlier.
This is the type of quantitative analytical penenlitian a case control. With the total
sampling technique Systematic sampling and random sampling. Analysis of data
using univariate and bivariate analysis. Univariate analysis was obtained from a
history of hypertension group as many as 19 (27.9%) consists of a group totaling
14 cases (41.2%) and control group numbered 5 (14.7%). Bivariate analysis using
statistical test obtained p value = 0.015
