Uji Kinerja Alat Penggiling Lada Tipe Flat Burr Mill
ABSTRAK
FADHLAN ARIEF: Uji kinerja alat penggiling lada tipe flat burr mill dibimbing
oleh ACHWIL PUTRA MUNIR dan ADIAN RINDANG.
Kualitas lada yang akan dipasarkan sangat tergantung pada pengolahan
pascapanennya, sehingga tahap ini harus mendapat perhatian serius. Karena
produk lada yang akan dipasarkan terdiri dari dua jenis, pengolahannya pun
tentunya berbeda. Uji kinerja alat penggiling lada tipe flat burr mill adalah untuk
mengetahui kelayakan dari alat penggiling pada komoditas lada putih. Penelitian
ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Keteknikan Pertanian dan di Laboratorium Sentral
Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan pada Oktober
2014. Parameter yang diamati adalah kapasitas efektif alat, persentase biji hilang,
kadar air, dan kadar abu,
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas efektif alat dengan rata rata
tiap ulangan 11,14 Kg/Jam, dan persentase biji hilang rata rata sebesar 2,9 %, Alat
ini layak untuk digunakan pada komoditas lada, Kadar abu rata rata sebesar 1,4 %,
dan kadar air rata rata 15,9 %.
Kata Kunci : Alat penggiling tipe Flat Burr Mill, Lada putih.
ABSTRACT
FADHLAN ARIEF: Test of Flat Burr Mill Type Pepper Grinding, supervised by
ACHWIL PUTRA MUNIR and ADIAN RINDANG.
Quality of pepper in the market is depend on post harvest process, so that
this stage needs a very the serious attention. As pepper had two types, the process
is also different. The test of flat burr mill type pepper grinding was to know the
feasebility of the mill in white pepper procesing. This research was done in
Agricultural Central Laboratorium, Agricultural Department, University of North
Sumatera, Medan on October 2014. Parameters observed were effective capacity,
percentage of losses seed, moisture content, and the ash content.
Results of the research showed that the average effective capacity was
11,14 kg/h, and the percentage of losses seed was 2,9%. The equipment was
feaseable to process white pepper, the ash content average was 1,4%, and the
average moisture content was 15,9%.
