Unit 8 : Weather and Seasons Setiap unit terbagi menjadi beberapa bagian.
1. Presentation
Pada setiap awal unit pelajaran terdapat gambar utama sebagai bahan pre- teaching. Pada bagian ini Guru diharapkan memberi penjelasan mengenai apa saja
yang akan dipelajari dan apa saja yang diharapkan untuk dikuasai oleh anak. Dengan demikian anak diharapkan termotivasi untuk mencapai tujuan
pembelajaran pada pelajaran tersebut. Penguasaan materi pada tahap awal ini menjadi pondasi dan penopang kegiatan selanjutnya. Untuk itu Guru diharapkan
dapat memastikan anak didiknya benar-benar memahami materi pada bagian ini. Dalam presentation terdapat sub judul Let’s Study dan Let’s Focus. Dalam sub
judul Let’s Study bertujuan untuk menarik perhatian para murid sekaligus memperkaya kosa kata tentang topik yang akan dipelajari dan melatih mereka
untuk pronunciation atau membaca dengan pengucapan atau lafal yang benar. Sedangkan dalam sub judul Let’s Focus guru diharapkan dapat menjelaskan
materi yang akan dipelajari berkaitan juga dengan grammar atau tata bahasa yang benar.
2. Practice
Dalam bagian ini, terdapat sub judul seperti Let’s Read dan Let’s Practice. Dalam sub judul yang pertama yaitu Let’s Read, murid diharapkan dapat
mempraktekkan dan menunjukkan kemampuan mereka dalam membaca.
Sedangkan dalam Let’s Practice berguna agar murid dapat menganalisis dan memahami bacaan yang telah diberikan dan dibaca sebelumnya, maupun
memahami materi yang ada dalam presentation. 3.
Production Kesempatan murid untuk mengekspresikan ide dan kreativitas mereka
berkaitan dengan materi yang baru saja dipelajari disediakan dalam bagian ini. Disini murid dapat mengekspresikan penguasaan materi mereka dalam kreativitas
mereka masing-masing. Guru juga dapat mengukur kemampuan murid-murid mereka dalam penguasaan materi yang telah mereka ajarkan dalam sub judul
Project Work. Beberapa kegiatan yang termasuk disini adalah seperti misalnya murid diminta untuk membuat paragraf singkat mengenai materi yang baru saja
dipelajari yang harus dibacakan setelahnya, membuat cerita sesuai urutan gambar yang disediakan, maupun mengisi table berdasarkan informasi yang didapat dari
temannya. 4.
Games Dalam bagian ini Guru dapat mereview atau mengulas kembali materi
yang sudah dipelajari dalam bentuk permainan Games. Metode permainan ini berbeda dengan permainan pada umumnya. Permainan pada umumnya hanya
digunakan oleh Guru untuk menghilangkan kebosanan siswa atau cenderung hanya sebagai filler di waktu luang mereka Sillvers, 1986. Maka dalam
permainan ini selain murid dapat bermain dan melepas kebosanan mereka, mereka juga dapat berinteraksi dengan teman-teman mereka berkaitan dengan materi yang
baru saja dipelajari karena penulis menyusun Games dalam bagian ini sebagai
salah satu cara untuk mengulas kembali materi yang baru saja dipelajari sehingga penulis merancang Games untuk setiap unitnya. Hal ini bertujuan untuk
membantu siswa menerapkan pelajaran yang sudah mereka pelajari dan membantu mereka memperdalam pemahaman materi pelajaran dengan lebih baik.
