CALL MY BLUFF STUDENT A You are going to play a game with Group B called “Called my bluff” where you will take it in turns to read out three definitions of the words relating to OCCUPATION, but only one definition is correct. The other team tries to guess who has read out the correct definition. If they do, they score 1 point. If they guess wrongly, you score 1 point. You are going to read out three words altogether, so before starting: a. Choose which three words you will use from the list below. b. Decide which person will read out the ‘correct’ definition for each word. The same person can read out the correct definition more than once c. Working together, thinks up two ‘false’ definitions for each of the three words. Remember to give an example sentence and, if possible, try to suggest an origin for the word. You may even be able to adapt some of the definitions from the words below that you didn’t use. d. When both you and Group B are ready, you can begin. Take it in turns to read out your definitions. Group B starts. e. The team with the highest score at the end wins. Here are 8 correct definitions. Choose three of them for the game. 1. Chef : a professional and the most senior cook in the restaurant or hotel. 6. Taxi driver : a person whose job is driving a taxi. 7. Plumber : a person whose job is to fit or repair things, such as water pipes. 8. Dancer : a person whose job is dancing.
