Stock Price Index
In order to give a more complete information of the stock exchange development to the public, the JSX has spreaded the indicators of the stock price movement through the printed and electronic media. One indicator of
the stock price movement is the Stock Price Index. At present, the JSX has 6 types of Stock Price Index: 1.
Composite Stock Price Index CSPI, using all listed stocks as the index calculation components. 2.
Sectoral Index, using all the stocks included in each sector. 3.
LQ45 Index, using the 45 selected stocks. 4.
The JII index consists of 30 stocks that have passed the selection under the direction of the Sharia Supervisory Board.
5. Main Board Index MBX andDevelopment Board Index DBX, both indices are using all the stocks included in
each board. 6.
Individual Index, which is the index of each stock price to the base price. CSPI, Sectoral Index and LQ45 Index use the same calculation method. The difference is the number of stocks
used as the components in the calculation.
Composite Stock Price Index CSPI
The CSPI was introduced the first time on 1 April 1983 as the indicator of the movement of all the listed stock prices in the JSX, for both the regular and preferred stocks. The base day for the CSPI’s calculation is 10 August
1982. At that date, the index was determined at 100, and the listed number of stocks at that time was 13 stocks.

Index Calculation Method
The basis for the CSPI’s calculation is the Aggregate Market Value of the total listed stocks on 10 August 1982. The aggregate Market Value is the total of the multiplication of each listed shares except for companies under
restructuring program with each price in the JSX on that day. The calculation formula is as follows :
Market Value CSPI = –––––––––––––– x 100
Base Value So that the index calculation still represents the movement of the stock price in the marketstock exchange
occuring in a continuous auction trading system, the Base Value is immediately adjusted if there is a change in the issuer’s capital or other factors which do not relate to the stock price. The adjustment will be done if there
is an addition of new issuer, rights offering, partialcompany listing, stock exchange originating from warrants and convertible bonds as well as delisting. In the case of stock split, stock dividend or bonus issue, the Base Value is
not adjusted because the Market Value is not influenced. The stock price currency used for calculating the CSPI is the currency at the regular market, in which the occuring transaction is based on the continuous auction market.
The formula for adjusting the Base Value is : Old Market Value + New Stock Market Value
New Base Value = –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––------–– x Old Base Value
Old Market Value The CSPI’s calculation is done once a day, that is - after the trading has finished at the day. In the near future,

for selecting stocks for inclusion in the LQ45 index are as follows: 1.
In the first step, stocks that are eligible for inclusion in the LQ45 Index are those that have been listed at the JSX for at least 3 months.
2. Next, stocks are ranked based on their average Regular Market transaction value during the previous 12-month
period. The top 60 stocks in this ranking is the universe from which the LQ45 Index would be created. 3.
Stocks in the top 30 position of this list are directly passed as constituents of the LQ45 Index. 4.
From the remaining 30 stocks in the universe, a selection would be made to determine the 15 stocks needed to form the LQ45 Index. A selection process based on: total number of active trading days, transactions’
frequencies and market capitalization rankings. All activities are activities carried out in the Regular Market, during the previous 12-month period.
5. The LQ45 Index is reviewed every February and August. During reviews, stocks that no longer meets any of the
selection criteria are replaced. 6.
To ensure the quality of the LQ45 Index, from time to time the JSX would hold consultancy or discussion sessions with experts from capital market professionals, practitioners and academics.
