and the second section presents the blog’s description. The complete form of the reading blog is as attached in the Appendix D.
1. The Reading Materials
Even though the whole reading blog consists of eight units, the writer developed four units to be uploaded in the blog. They are Unit 3, Unit 4, Unit 6,
and Unit 7. The writer chose those units to be developed by considering each unit as a sample of text genres included in the Basic Competences. Unit 3 is the
sample or representative of short functional texts. Unit 4 is the sample of procedural texts. Unit 6 is the only unit telling about recount text. Unit 7 is the
sample of narrative texts. Each unit of this reading blog has similar structure of learning experiences.
The learning experiences are divided into three parts. The first part is pre-activity, the second part is the main activities, and the third part is the post-activity.
i. Pre-activity. The pre-activity in this reading blog is named “Warming Up.” In this part, the writer provided various activities for each unit. The examples of
“Warming Up” activities are watching videos, doing exercise about general knowledge, and reviewing the previous materials.
ii. Main activities. The main activities consist of four main parts. The first part is “Digging Deeper.” In “Digging Deeper,” the writer provided a modeling text
related to the topic of each unit. The modelling text is completed with vocabulary exercise Enriching Your Vocabulary and the comprehension
questions Trying to Understand. The second part is “Understanding the Text.” This part reveals the analysis of the modelling text. The analysis is different in

each unit, however it mainly tells the readers about the text’s generic structure and the language feature. The third part is “Focusing on Grammar.” This part
explains the language feature of the text more deeply. The grammar explanation is completed with grammar exercise named “Checking Your
Grammar.” The fourth part is “Mastering the Text.” This is the last part of the main activities. This part provides another text related to the topic, a set of
vocabulary exercise Adding More New Words, and comprehension questions Checking Your Understanding.
iii. Post activity. All materials discussed in each unit is concluded in “Wrapping Up.” This part gives a summary of important points to remember about the
main topic of the unit.
2. The Blog’s Description
