The word failed means not to succeed in something. And the word success means the achievement of the desired aim, or of fame, wealth or social position.

5.3 CONCLUSIONS

After analyzing and calculating the lexical relations and meaning properties that exist in fourteen articles of The Jakarta Post newspaper, some conclusions can be drawn from the case of lexical relations and meaning properties. In lexical relations, antonyms 8 sentences: 44,44 and synonyms 8 sentences: 44,44 occur the most dominantly, successively followed by hyponyms 2 sentences: 11,1, homonyms 0 sentences: 0 and meronyms 0 sentence: 0 is zero. While in meaning properties, meaningfulness 321 sentences: 99,37 is the most dominant type then followed by contradictory 1 sentences: 0,31, anomaly 1 sentence: 0,31, ambiguity 0 sentence: 0 and redundancy 0 sentence: 0 is zero. From the result of analysis, it can be concluded that most of the articles are meaningfulness as part of kind of meaning properties which is easy to understand. However, those articles apparently use plenty of complex sentences that are quite difficult to understand by common people because a complex sentence has one dependent clause and at least one independent clause so they will get some difficulties to determine the dependent clause and independent clause.
