exercises. After that, the teacher asked the students to prepare for the speaking practice. Finally, the students practiced speaking in front of the class.
3. The Data Presentation and Analysis of the Interview
To clarify the data, the researcher interviewed some learners. The researcher chose six learners as the representative of the class; there were 3 learners of the
low achievement and 3 of the high achievement. From the interview, the researcher found that the learners agreed that the model was effective in the
speaking class in terms of giving them more knowledge about the English style, the format related to the topic, the pronunciation, the expression, and also the
intonation. On the other hand, they complained that the model was not clear enough to listen to and it was low in frequency. They had not been accustomed to
the model. The researcher found that the learners faced technical problems. On the other hand, the learners believed that the modelling was effective in helping them
acquire the communicative competence. In the interviewees’ opinion, the model could be perfect if the model was clear enough to listen and the teacher played the
audio recording more often in the class. In the research, the researcher also compared the responses of the low
achievers and the high achievers. The researcher observed the students’ marks from their final examination. Then, the researcher compared whether there was
different perception between the low achievers and the high achievers. Here, the researcher found that there was no different perception between the low achievers
and the high achieves both from the questionnaires and the observations as well as the interviews.

CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
In this chapter, the writer answers the research questions proposed in Chapter I. Firstly, the writer presents the conclusions drawn from the research result in
Chapter IV. Second, the writer presents the suggestions about the use of audio recording as the model in the speaking class.
A. Conclusions
As stated in the previous chapters, the research was intended to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of audio recording as the model in Speaking V
class at the English Language Education Study Program of Sanata Dharma University. In Chapter IV, the researcher has presented the research findings of
the research. The data was mainly obtained through the students’ responses on the questionnaires that had been distributed to them. Then, to clarify the data, the
researcher also did class observation and interviewed some respondents. There were thirty-one students in the two Speaking V classes taken as the subjects.
There were two research objectives in the research. First, it was to observe the implementation of the use of audio recording as the model in the Speaking V
classes at the English Language Education Study Program of Sanata Dharma University. Second, it was to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of audio
