From the students’ responses on the 11 items in relation to the use of the model above, the researcher could find out whether the students felt that the
model was useful for them or not. From the students’ responses on those items, the researcher found that most students agreed that the model was useful. It could
be summarized that the model was useful for the students in helping them to learn speaking. In this case, the students’ responses on the use of the model in their
speaking class were positive. Hence, the students have good perceptions on the stimulus which in the research is the use of the model.
c. Progress after Using the Model in the Speaking Class.
The researcher presented statements number 20, 21, 22, and 23 which represented the students’ feelings after using the model, their speaking
performance, and their understanding about the material. Therefore, through the students’ responses to these statements, the researcher could find out what were
the students’ opinions on their progress in the speaking class using the model. The following are the data presentation and analysis and the discussions of those
items.

The table showed that 51.61 students disagreed that the audio recording as their model in the speaking class could help them to understand the points of the
material given. Moreover, 3.23 of them strongly disagreed with the statement. On the other hand, it was found that 41.94 agreed and 3.23 strongly agreed
with the statement. Here, the average was 2.45. It could be interpreted that for many students the audio recording was not useful in helping them understand the
points of the material given. It was a negative response. For the researcher, it was her task to find out the further information about it.
In statement number 21, the researcher has come to the item in relation to the students’ achievement after having exercises after the model was conducted. From
the statement, the researcher wanted to investigate whether the exercises after the model could influence the students’ achievement or not. The result showed that
74.19 students agreed that the exercises after the model could help them to achieve better performance in speaking. Moreover, 6.45 of them strongly agreed
with the statement. On the other hand, 19.36 students disagreed and no student strongly disagreed with the statement. Here, the average was 2.87. It could be
concluded that the students’ responses toward the modelling were positive in that the model could help them achieve better performance in speaking.
From the students’ responses to statement number 22, the researcher could find out what the students’ feelings in the speaking activities after using the model
were; whether they felt more confident or not. The chart showed that there were 69.35 students agreed that the modelling could help them to be more confident
in the speaking activities. Besides, 6.45 of them strongly agreed with the
statement. 24.19 of them disagreed and no student strongly disagreed with the statement. The average was 2.82. Hence, it could be concluded that the students’
responses to the statement were positive. From the students’ responses on statement 23, it could be concluded that they
had made progress in the speaking class with the model used. It was important to find it out since the students’ progress was the teacher’ expectation; it was for the
purpose of the learning process. The chart showed that the students had positive responses on the statement. 74.19 students agreed that they had made progress
in the speaking class with the modelling. Moreover, 16.13 of them strongly agreed with the statement. Meanwhile, 9.68 of them disagreed and no student
strongly disagreed with the statement. The average was 3.07. It means that the students’ responses to statement 23 are positive.
From the 4 items above, it was seen that generally the modelling was useful in helping the students to make progress in their speaking class. There was only 1
item that the students had negative responses on it. The average was 2.45, nearly 2.5. In this case, it could be concluded that the students had positive responses on
most items in relation to their progress. It means that the students have good perceptions on their expectation of the use of the model.
