C. Action Hypothesis
Related to the previous description of the related theories and the basic assumption above, the writer formulates the action hypothesis as follows:
1. The use of project work can improve the students‘ speaking ability in
learning English in Vocational High School because it will enable them to enhance their speaking ability easily.
2. There are many side benefits when project work is implemented in the
classroom practice.

CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
A. Research Setting
This research is carried out at SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. This school is located at Jalan L.U. Adisucipto No. 33, Surakarta. It is exactly in the middle of
the city. The phone number is 0271 714901. The school is near the road, near Manahan Stadium and is easy for the students to find it. The school width is
23.150 m2. SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta has 53 classes including Net and Computer
Technique Program. The other facilities are a large library with some computers which have been connected to Internet, a language laboratory, drawing technique
studio, construction technique workshop, wood technique workshop, electricity technique workshop, audio video technique workshop, machine technique
workshop, automotive mechanic technique workshop, net computer technique workshop and laboratory, Unit Training Car, ICT, Education Television,
multimedia laboratory, computer laboratory, more than ten toilets, a tennis court, a parking area, a large yard with several trees surrounding it. The school is
surrounded by approximately two meters of fence and there is also a gate in front of the school. The school also has a cooperation with industrial world in
Surakarta and others . The class is very comfortable for teaching learning process especially in
