There were six criteria in design and organization aspect. This aspect completed four out of six criteria and had 57.14 fulfilment. This achievement was considered sufficient fulfilment. The second criterion was fulfilled because this textbook is organized based on the skills. The next criterion was not fulfilled because this textbook is not sequenced in terms of genre-based principles. Third criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides recycling process. The fifth criterion was about the reference sections. It was not fulfilled because this textbook does not provide any reference sections in each unit. The fifth criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides materials for individual study, such as comprehension tests and key answers and vocabulary list along with phonetic 45 transcription. The last criterion was fulfilled because the layout of this textbook is clear and readable for the readers.

3. Language Content

Total 5 Percentage 80 The first criterion was fulfilled because Interlanguage: English for Senior High School Student X provides materials for grammar which are appropriate to tenth graders. This textbook covers simple past tense, simple present tense, simple present perfect, simple past perfect, and passive voice, which represent standard competence of curriculum 2006. The second criterion was about the availability of vocabulary materials in the textbook. This criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides materials related to enrich students’ vocabulary. Vocabulary 46 lists and mini dictionary are provided in this textbook. There are also activities related to vocabulary such as fill in the blank, puzzle, crosswords, etc. Next criterion was to evaluate pronunciation work. This criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides materials for pronunciation work. There is “Key to Pronunciation” part which covers phonetic symbols and the way to pronounce it. This textbook also provides phonetic transcription in every vocabulary list to help the students pronounce it correctly. The forth criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides materials which help students to develop their discourse competence. There are many expressions provided which commonly used in daily conversation. By learning those expressions the students are expected to make meaningful conversations. The last criterion was about style and appropriacy. Having a good style and appropriacy can be seen from the ability to choose formal and informal expressions in conversation and a written text. This criterion was not fulfilled because this textbook does not give formal and informal expressions.
