material is well recorded. It was not fulfilled because Interlanguage: English for Senior High School Student X is not accompanied with recorded material. To
overcome it, listening scripts are provided. Second criterion was to know whether the listening material accompanied by background information. This criterion was
fulfilled because listening activities in this textbook are accompanied by the information about the situation the students will hear.
Next criterion was to know whether the listening material accompanied by questions. This criterion was fulfilled because there are questions in listening
activities. The forth criterion was about the availability of listening activities. This criterion was fulfilled because listening activities are provided, such as fill in the
blanks, matching pictures, etc. The last criterion was not fulfilled because building the context and linking related text are not covered in this textbook.
Next is speaking skill evaluation. It covered two criteria. The result of the speaking evaluation was sufficient. It was because speaking aspect fulfilled one
out of two criteria or 50 achievement.

well designed to equip learners for real-life interactions or not. This criterion was fulfilled because as an English textbook, Interlanguage provides speaking
material for real-life interactions in a form of dialogues and role plays. The second criterion was to know whether the speaking activities or tasks are appropriate with
genre based principles or not. This criterion was not fulfilled because there is no building the context and linking related text.
The third skill to evaluate is reading skill. Reading skill evaluation covered four criteria. This aspect fulfilled three out of four criteria or 75 achievement.
The result can be considered a fair fulfilment.

for students’ level and interest or not. This criterion was fulfilled because the reading passages are suitable for students’ level and interest. The second criterion
was to know whether the associated activities suitable for students’ level and interest or not. This criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides suitable
activities for the students, such as fill in the blank, arranging jumbled paragraph,
50 matching words, choosing true or false, answering WH questions, answering
multiple choices, and making summary. The next criterion was to know whether Interlanguage: English for Senior
High School Student X provides sufficient reading material or not. This criterion was fulfilled because this textbook provides at least two reading passages in each
unit and followed with activities as mentioned before. The last criterion was to know whether the reading activities or tasks in the textbook are appropriate with
genre based principles or not. This criterion was not fulfilled because only three stages of teachinglearning cycle covered in speaking section; modelling, joint
constructions, and independent constructions. The last skill to evaluate is writing skill. There were five criteria in writing
skill evaluation. This aspect fulfilled three criteria or 60 achievement. It was considered fair fulfilment.
