Speak Up Each unit consists of some sections. The order of the sections might be different one to another. The order is according to the needs and the function of the activities. But, all of the activities are aimed to increase students’ speaking ability by using their multiple intelligences. Therefore, the students are required to speak through various activities. Below are the descriptions of each section which may include in the material. 1. Conversation This section presents dialogues based on the language function and selected topic which is covered in the unit. 62 2. Expressionsto be Remembered In this section, there are some examples of expression or some things that should be noted or remembered based on the topic chosen. This section is aimed to help the students to know the expressions in English. Therefore, the students can use and apply the expressions in their daily conversation. 3. Let’s Have Fun This section presents various activities which are fun. The activities which included in this section are related to MI. it is aimed to learn English in a fun way without ignoring students’ multiple intelligences. 4. Speak Up In this activity, the students have to practice and apply what they have learned from the sections before. This section consists of communicative activities which can help the students to develop their speaking skill. Therefore, the students can apply what they have learned in their daily conversation. 5. Language Exercise This section is aimed to see how far the students understanding the materials. The students must do the exercise available in the module. Later on, the tutor can check students’ understanding by asking them to answer or to perform based on the instruction in this section. 6. Word Corner This section is one of speaking activities which covered poems or short stories. The aim of this section is to let the students learn English through 63 poems or short stories. Later on, if the students find some difficult words, the can ask for the meaning to the tutor. 7. Let’s Sing This section more or less is the same with “Let’s Have Fun”. The difference is that the activity in this section is covered in a song. The students must sing the song and then do the next activities which asked for to do after singing the song. In order to make it easier for the teacher and the students to understand the materials, the writer split the set of the materials into 2 sections, namely: “Student’s Book” see Appendix J and “Teacher’s Manual” see Appendix K. Actually, the contain of those two books are different from each other. The Student’s Book contains the materials for the students which consist of four units. Each unit is divided into some sections.
