Abstrak
Latar Belakang Masalah : Luka kronis adalah luka yang tidak sembuh lebih dari
12 minggu meskipun telah mendapat pengobatan yang adekuat atau yang belum
sembuh spontan dalam waktu 12 bulan. Bentuk luka kronis yang terbanyak pada
manusia adalah ulkus diabetikum dan ulkus dekubitus. Ulkus diabetikum adalah
luka terbuka pada permukaan kulit yang disebabkan adanya komplikasi kronik
berupa mikroangiopati dan makroangiopati. Ulkus dekubitus dapat didefinisikan
sebagai kerusakkan kulit dan jaringan yang terlokalisir akibat tekanan, regangan,
gesekan, atau kombinasi ketiganya. Meskipun dengan pengobatan, ulkus akan
dapat berkembang menjadi luka kronis. Sejumlah penelitian yang dilakukan akhirakhir ini telah menunjukkan adanya hubungan trace element seperti zinc yang
sangat memegang peranan proses penyembuhan luka. Defisiensi zinc dapat
menyebabkan kegagalan dalam proses penyembuhan luka. Kadar zinc 40 tahun dibandingkan kelompok umur  40 tahun yaitu 106,53 μg/L vs 109,66
μg/L.

Kesimpulan : Kadar zinc plasma yang rendah pada penderita ulkus diabetikum
dan ulkus dekubitus.

Abstract
Background : A chronic wound is a wound that fails with to heal within 3
months despite adequate treatment or has not healed spontaneously within 12
months. The most common forms of chronic wounds in human include diabetic
ulcers and pressure ulcers. Diabetic ulcer is a open wound on the skin caused by

chronic complication such as macroangiopathy and microangiopathy. Pressure
ulcers can be defined as an area of localized damage to the skin and underlying
tissue caused by pressure, shear, friction, or a combination of these. Despite
treatment, ulcers really become chronic wounds. Some evidences of research is
represent that trace element such as zinc has a role in wound healing process. Zinc
deficiency impairs the crucial role each of these processes play in wound healing.
Zinc levels less than 100 μg/L have been associated with impairments in wound
healing.
Objectives : To determine the plasma zinc level in patients with diabetic ulcer and
pressure ulcer.
Method : This is an observational descriptive cross-sectional study involving 27
diabetic ulcer patients and 23 pressure ulcer patients. Each subject had been
examined and blood sample was taken to measure plasma zinc level. The data was
analysed by descriptive.
Result : Mean plasma zinc level in diabetic ulcers 113,31 μg/L. Mean plasma zinc
level in pressure ulcers 107,63 μg/L. Mean plasma zinc level was lower in female
patients compare with male patients 101,72 μg/L vs 122,58 μg/L (diabetic ulcers)
and 87,91 vs 118,13 (pressure ulcers). Mean plasma zinc level in pressure ulcers
were lower in group aged > 40 years compare with group aged 40 years (106,53
μg/L vs 109,66 μg/L).

Conclutions : Plasma zinc level was found to be low in patients with diabetic
ulcers and pressure ulcers.
