literary work, or it is the authors’ mean of differentiating one character to another. Characters are closely related to the plot because character means action, while action
forms the plot of literary work. According to Abrams in Nurgiyantoro,1995:165 “tokoh cerita orang-orang
yang ditampilkan dalam suatu karya naratif, atau drama yang oleh pembacara ditafsirkan memilki kualitas moral dan kecenderungan tertentu seperti yang diekspresikan dalam

The people in novel are characters. We asses them on the basis of what the author tells us about them and on the bassis of what they do and say. This important, we
must avoid loosing cojecture about a character and establish everything from the evidence of the text. Another point to remember is that the character are part of boader pattern,
they are members of a society will be reflected in the presentation of every character. The authors may present their characters in two general ways, they are:
