It can be seen on the table above that almost all the students who get high score in vocabulary test also get high score in reading test. This is also showed by the point of the r xy r o that is higher than the r table r t .

3. Test of Hypothesis

The writer has mentioned the hypothesis before from the hypothesis; there are some criteria of test hypothesis: If ro rt The alternative hypothesis Ha is accepted and Null Hypothesis Ho is rejected. It means there is correlation between students’ achievement in vocabulary and reading ability. If ro rt The alternative hypothesis Ha is rejected and Null Hypothesis Ho is accepted. According to the table significance, it can be seen that df 38 is closer to r table df 40, so the writer took the r table df 40, we get point 0.304 on r table for the 5 significance degree and point 0,393 on 1 significance degree. So it means point 0.770 on r o is high than r table 0.770 0.304 and 0.770 0.393, from that result, we can conclude that null hypothesis is rejected and alternative hypothesis is accepted. Finally, the writer concludes that there is significant correlation of students’ achievement in vocabulary and reading comprehension ability. In another word, the correlation of students’ achievement in vocabulary and their reading ability is considered high strong correlation as seen in the table above.
