utors’ Opinions on the Course Participants’ Expectation In observing the tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ expectation, the researcher found that it was important that the research include the tutors’ opinions on the course participants in general. It was important that the research consider what the tutors thought about the course participants’ English skill and motivation. It is so because the course part icipants’ expectation was thought to be influenced by their English skill they had already possessed and their motivation in joining the English course. Hence, t he tutors’ opinions about the course participants, to whom they worked with, are matters in seeing how the tutors consider the course in general and the participants in particular. The tutors’ opinions about the course participants can be depicted by paying attention to their answers to some interview inquiries. Furthermore, those inquiries are distinguished into some sub- themes as the counterpart of the inquiries had been asked to the course participants, namely the tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ English skill, 52 the tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ motivation, the tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ expectation and the tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ future needs. Those opinions are described as follows. 1 The T utors’ Opinions on the Course Participants’ English Skill Tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ English skill were also distinguished by their English skill before and after joining the course. This statement was supported by the tutors’ observation over the course participants who were more accustomed to use more English in their daily activities during the courses. The tutors said that the course participants had more confidence in using English through prayer leading, greeting each other and particularly with the tutors, giving speech in front of the class and doing simple dialogs. 2 The T utors’ Opinions on the Course Participants’ Expectation It was a must to know the course participants’ expectation in order to really direct the goal of the course, which was getting the course participants meet what they wanted the first time they joined the English course. The tutors’ opinions on the course participants’ expectation was able to be derived from the 53 course par ticipants’ needs in joining the English course. To the first interview question, the tutors said there were some urgent needs the course participants pursued, such as further study, job, good English score, the National Exam, and the need to go abroad. Furthermore, the tutors also said that concerning the learning process of the course the course participants needed enjoyable learning process, positive learning atmosphere, and tutors’ understanding over the course participants. The tutors’ responses to the second question were similar, stating that some of th e course participants’ needs had been accommodated. The second interviewed tutor said that some of the course participants did not pay serious attention to the lesson.
