The writer chose the most prominent characteristics of the main character. After that, the writer tried to answer the second problem which was describing the conflicts that Kelsea faced in the novel. The writer analyzed the conflicts one by one and clarified them as internal and external conflicts. After the conflicts were compiled, the writer found out how Kelsea solved the conflicts she faced to be a True Queen. The last step done by the writer was analyzing the moral messages which was revealed on the way Kelsea solved her problems. The writer analyzed the messages by seeing how Kelsea responded to her conflicts. After the analysis part had been done, the writer made the conclusion part. The writer made the conclusion by concluding all of the analysis; started from how Kelsea is described, how Kelsea responded to her conflicts in the novel, and what messages are revealed on Kelsea’s ways to be a True Queen in the story. CHAPTER IV ANALYSIS

In this chapter, the writer wants to analyze the three defined questions. The discussion of the questionis divided into three parts. First, the writer tries to identify the characteristics of the main character. Second, the writer wants to discuss the conflicts faced by Kelsea, the main character. Third is the moral messages revealed through Kelsea’s way to solve her problem. The first step that the writer uses is discussing the characteristics of Kelsea. After the writer has found and made the details about the characteristics of Kelsea, the writer discusses the conflicts faced by the main character. Each characteristic that Kelsea has helps her in taking an action to solve the conflict that she is facing. After discovering how the main character solves the problem, the writer seeks out the messages of the actions taken by Kelsea.

A. The Characteristics of Kelsea

On the first sub-chapter, the writer describes the characteristics of Kelsea. The writer uses M.J. Murphy’s Understanding the Unseen 1972: 161- 173 to find Kelsea’s characteristics based on characters as seen by another, speech, past life, conversation of others, reaction, direct comment, and thought. Based on the story, Kelsea is a crown princess of Tearling who lives in a cottage in the woods.
