Nature of Data METHODOLOGY

process. This observation data used field noted and video-taped. The observation was conducted during the teaching learning process. The focus was the learners’ learning English adopted from the components and aspects in the blue print. Then the data got were interpreted to find out the participants who met the needs of this study. Next, the observation when playing game was conducted for more or less thirty-five minutes, just similar to the duration of each hour in class. It was intended to make the study through playing more effective, avoid boredom and limit the participants’ learning, so they would get used to managing their study time. When the observation had been done, the interview blueprint was completely developed. Then, the interview was conducted in turn between participant A and B. Each interview was recorded visually and in audio. After that, the interview data were transcribed. The research conducted interpreting the data by processing the raw and reviewing data. Then, it was continued by coding, categorizing, and synthesizing the data of observation and also interview data after the development of the interview guide. To clarify the research thoroughly, the researcher conducted the second interview. It was necessary in order not to have misunderstanding about the data got from the observation and the first interview. Then, the data was revised based on the second interview. Finally, when the data were already complete, the result was made. However, no generalization of the result was made. The following figure shows the systematic steps in the research procedure. 3.6 Data Analysis and Representation

In analyzing the data, hermeneutic circle is used. The hermeneutic circle and dialogue of question and answer are two key strategies drawn from the hermeneutic literature that were incorporated in this research. The hermeneutic circle is a metaphor for understanding and interpretation, which is viewed as a movement between parts data and whole evolving understanding of the phenomenon, each giving meaning to the other such that understanding is circular and iterative. Therefore, the questions that emerge from studying the phenomenon are open; the answer is then to be found in the text. In this context, the text is a creation from data collected from participants.
