CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY
In doing this thesis I use the library research by collecting data from some books and some resources that can be related to the subject matter being analyze.
Inductive method is used in the analysis of the thesis. It is a scientific procedure to get conclusion from particular thing to general idea. The writer uses novel
Perempuan Berkalung Sorban and A Doll’s House as the main source of data. There are some steps that the writer uses in doing this analysis namely:
3.1 Collecting Data
Firstly, writer read the whole both literary work to get deep understanding about the novel, without worry about the difficult meaning of the both literary work.
In this thesis the writer will collect data by finding motifs of woman emancipation in the both literary works from the main characters struggle to get their right as a
woman and finding data from several books that related to the topic of this thesis. The books is used to give additional information and statement that can be drawn for
this thesis. The relevant important from the books will be marked and underline so that it can support the analysis of this thesis.
3.2 Selecting Data
The Secondly, the writer selects the important information about the idea of social stratification woman and man in Perempuan Berkalung Sorban and A Doll’s
House. The writer quotes the text and makes the quotation as the data to support the
17 analysis. In this step the motifs of the both novel will be found, so that the data that
will analyze can be easier to be described.
3.3 Analyzing Data
Analyzing data is applied when all the primary data from both of literary works are collected and selected, data from literary works are in a form of written
text, which concern about motif woman emancipation of whole text, from the whole text that has been selected will be found the most significant data which support this
topic and then data will be interpreted. And then, the writer would make interpretation base on the data which already taken before. And then I will compare
and analyze the two literary works Perempuan Berkalung Sorban and A Dolls House. The last step is the writer would make further analysis about social stratification
woman and man in Perempuan Berkalung Sorban and A Doll’s House. And at last the writer makes the conclusion and the suggestion about this thesis.

CHAPTER IV DATA ANALYSIS
In this analysis, writer finds and decides some problems that needed to answer further. They are:
1. What are the differences of woman emancipation in the two literary works? 2. What are the similarities of woman emancipation in the two literary works?
