Determine the Mean of Variable X with formula: ∑ = 11.40 b. Determine the Mean of Variable Y with formula: ∑ = 6.40 c. Determine the Standard Deviation Score of Variable X with formula: √ ∑ √ = √ d. Determine the Standard Deviation Score of Variable Y with formula: √ ∑ √ = √ = 1.27 e. Determine the Standard Error Mean of Variable X with formula: √ √ = = 0.47 f. Determine the Standard Error Mean of Variable Y with formula: √ √ = = 0.26 g. Determine the Standard Error of different Mean of Variable X and Mean of Variable Y with formula: √ √ = √ =√ = 0.5 h. Determine t with formula: = = 23.80 i. Determine the degree of freedom with formula: – = 50 - 2 = 48 3. Hypothesis Testing This research was conducted to answer the question whether Two Stay Two Stray TSTS Technique has any effect on students’ ability in reading recount text on second grade students of SMP Dharma Karya UT. In order to provide an answer for the question above, the Alternative Hypothesis Ha and Null Hypothesis Ho were proposed as follows: a. Ho Null Hypothesis: Two Stay Two Stray TSTS Technique has no significant effectiveness in learning reading of recount text. b. Ha Alternative Hypothesis: Two Stay Two Stray TSTS Technique has significant effectiveness in learning reading of recount text To prove the hypothesis, the obtained data from experiment class and control class were calculated by using t test formula with assumption as follows: a. If t0 ≤ t table , in significant degree of 1, the Null Hypothesis Ho is accepted and the Hypothesis Alternative Ha is rejected. It means that there is no significant effect of Two Stay Two Stray TSTS Technique on students’ reading recount text ability. b. If t0 ≥ t table , in significant degree of 1, the Null Hypothesis Ho is rejected and the Hypothesis Alternative Ha is accepted. It means that there is a
