67 Based on the data in Table 4.7, the percentage of students’ achievement in
preposition at was 57. This percentage could be obtained by dividing the total correct answers in the test items investigating preposition at by the total answers
in preposition at. The total answers in preposition at were obtained by multiplying the total students who became the respondents of the test by the total number of
items investigating preposition at in the test. By seeing the percentage of students’ achievement in preposition at, which was 57, it could be assumed that the
students’ ability in using this preposition was sufficient since it reached the minimum standard of mastery, which is 56. Although it had reached the
minimum standard of mastery, the percentage of students’ achievement in this preposition was still far from good quality. It means the students need to improve
their understanding about preposition at.

Based on the data in Table 4.8, it could be seen that there were few students who made error in Part 2 number 1. There were fifty eight students 95.1 who
answered this item correctly. It means that most of the students who took this test did not have problem in using preposition in indicating place, which was
translated from Indonesian into English. Based on the test results illustrated in Table 4.8, it could be seen that all
items investigating preposition in indicating place in part 1 were problematic to the students. There were twenty five students 41 who made error in answering
item number 4, twenty eight students 45.9 who made error in answering item number 13, thirty seven students 60.7 who made error in answering item
number 15, thirty students 49.2 who made error in answering item number 28, and there were twenty six students 42.6 who made error in answering item
number 29. Most of the students who became the respondents of this test had made error in those five items. To answer items numbers 4, 13 and 15, the
students tended to choose preposition at, whereas to answer items numbers 28 and 29, the students tended to choose preposition on.
Since there were thirty seven students 60.7 who failed to answer item number 15, it means that this item was the most complicated item among the
whole items investigating preposition in indicating place. Then, by seeing the data above, it could be concluded that there were many students who became the
respondents of this test were still confused about the use of preposition in indicating place.
