PENETAPAN KADAR MINERAL NATRIUM, KALIUM, DAN KALSIUM
PADA DAUN GIRANG(Leea aequata L.) SECARA
SPEKTROFOTOMETRI SERAPAN ATOM
ABSTRAK
Girang (Leea aequata L.) adalah tumbuhan yang berasal dari famili
Vitaceae. Tumbuhan ini banyak digunakan masyarakat karo sebagai obat luka,
antitetanus, dan anti kejang. Pada umumnya tumbuhan mengandung mineral
natrium, kalium, dan kalsiumyang berperan penting dalam mengatur kontraksi
otot. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar mineral natrium,
kalium, dan kalsium pada daun girang.
Sampel yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah daun girang muda dan
daun girang tua. Preparasi sampel dilakukan melalui destruksi kering. Penetapan
kadar dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom dengan
nyala udara-asetilen. Analisis kuantitatif natrium (Na), kalium (K), dan kalsium
(Ca) dilakukan pada panjang gelombang berturut-turut 589,0 nm, 766,5 nm, dan
422,7 nm. Keuntungan dari metode ini adalah selektif dan sensitif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar mineral natrium, kalium, dan
kalsium dalam daun girang muda adalah (79,9992± 0,8271) mg/100g; (631,0526±
1,1071) mg/100g dan (470,9033± 2,6521) mg/100g. Serta kadar mineral natrium,
kalium, dan kalsium dalam daun girang tua adalah (75,1995±2,3334) mg/100g;
(530,9961 ± 1,0173) mg/100g dan (1039,5513± 7,1164) mg/100g. Berdasarkan

hasil uji statistik yaitu uji beda rata-rata kadar mineral antara daun girang muda
dan daun girang tua, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan
kadar masing-masing mineral natrium, kalium, dan kalsium dengan tingkat
kepercayaan 99%.

LEVELIN GIRANG LEAVES (Leea aequata L.)BY ATOMIC
ABSORPTION SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

ABSTRACT
Girang (Leea aequata, L.) is a local plant of the Vitaceae family. This
plant is well used in the Karo community as wound healing, anti-tetanus, and anti
convulsion. Generally, plant contain mineral sodium, potassium, and calcium
which are the important mineral that regulate muscle contraction. The purpose of
this study was to determine mineral content of sodium, potassium, and calcium,in
the girang leaves.
The sample used in this study were younger girang leaves and older girang
leaves. Sample preparation was done by dry destruction. The determination is
conducted by using atomic absorption spectrophotometer with air-acetylene
flame. Quantitative analysis of sodium (Na), potassium (K), and calcium (Ca) is
perfomed at the 589.0 nm, 766.5 nm, and 422.7 nm wave length. The advantage
of this method is selective and sensitive.
The results showed that the levels of the minerals sodium, potassium, and
calcium in the younger girang leaves is (79.9992± 0.8271) mg/100g; (631.0526±
1.1071) mg/100g and (470.9033± 2.6521) mg/100g. As well as the levels of the
minerals sodium, potassium, and calcium in the older girang leaves is (75.1995±
2.3334) mg/100g; (530.9961 ± 1.0173) mg/100g and (1039.5513± 7.1164)
mg/100g. The results of statistical tests, test the difference of the mineral content
average’s between the the younger girang leaves and the older girang leaves,

show that there are significant differences of each mineral content of minerals
sodium, potassium, and calcium between the younger girang leaves and the older
girang leaves with a level of confidendince 99%.
