ABSTRAK

Employee Engagement merupakan keterikatan karyawan terhadap
organisasi serta mengekspresikan diri secara fisik, kognitif, dan emosional dalam
pekerjaan. Employee Engagement berpengaruh pada kinerja perusahaan dan
berdampak pada keberhasilan dan profitabilitas perusahaan. Banyak faktor yang
mempengaruhi Employee Engagement, salah satunya yaitu iklim organisasi.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh positif iklim organisasi
terhadap employee engagement. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif
dan kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah karyawan PT. Bank Sumut
Cabang Iskandar Muda yang berjumlah 50 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah skala yaitu skala employee engagement dan skala
iklim organisasi yang disusun berdasarkan aspek employee engagement oleh Kahn
(1990) serta iklim organisasi oleh Stringer (2002). Hasil analisa data penelitian
dengan menggunakan analisa regresi sederhana menunjukkan pengaruh yang
positif antara iklim organisasi dengan employee engagement (r=0,743 dan

p=0,000). Nilai koefisien determinan (r2) sebesar 0,552 atau 55,2 %. Artinya iklim
organisasi memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 55,2 % dalam meningkatkan
employee engagement pada karyawan. Hasil penelitian ini selanjutnya dapat
memperkaya ilmu Psikologi Industri dan Organisasi bahwa iklim organisasi dapat
mempengaruhi employee engagement.

Employee Engagement is an employee attachment to the organization and
express themselves physically, cognitively, and emotionally in the work. Employee

Engagement affect the company's performance and impact on the success and
profitability of the company. Many factors influence employee engagement, one of
which is organizational climate. This study aimed to determine the effect of a
positive organizational climate on employee engagement. This study uses
quantitative and qualitative methods. Subjects in this study were employees of PT.
Bank of North Sumatra Iskandar Muda branch numbering 50 people. Measuring
instruments used in this study is the scale scale scale employee engagement and
organizational climate which is based on aspects of employee engagement by
Kahn (1990) as well as organizational climate by Stringer (2002). Results of
analysis of research data using simple regression analysis showed a positive
effect between organizational climate to employee engagement (r = 0.743 and p =
0.000). Determinant coefficient (r2) of 0.552 or 55.2%. Organizational climate
means effective contribution by 55.2% increase in employee engagement on
employees. Results of this study can further enrich Industrial and Organizational
Psychology science that organizational climate can influence employee
engagement.
