c. The Third Meeting
The third meeeting was carried out on Saturday, May 1st, 2010. The reading text wa
s “
The Frog Princess
”. The researcher entered the class and greeted the students. The first activity was praying. As usual in the English
lesson, one of the student TU became the leader of the praying in English words. After that, the researcher checked the students‟ attendance. There were 30
students in the class. One students was absent, that was Koko Aldianto, number 13. They were 15 male and 15 female students.
Before teaching, the researcher gave motivation to the students. The researcher said that reading was an important activities which should be done by
the students. By reading, the students could find much information. Then, the researcher explained the objective of the activity. Then, she divided the students
into 8 groups. In the pre-reading activity, the researcher asked some questions to the
students to lead the theme and the title of the text. The purpose was to activate their background knowledge. Before teaching reading, the researcher asked some
questions to the students, they we re: “

”. Then, the writer asked to the students: “

”. In the whilst-reading activity, the researcher distributed worksheet to
each of groups. The student ‟s worksheet was in Appendix 13.c. Then, she asked
some of the students to read the text loudly, the title was “
The Frog Princess
”. Before reading, the teacher gave a model to read the text correctly. Then, the

teacher reminded the students how to identify a narrative text, such as: generic structure, language feature, to find detail information about the text, etc. Then, the
researche r asked some of the students to retell the story “
The Frog Princess
” in front of the class. There were three students retell the story, they were: TU, V,
and G. After that, the teacher asked the students to discuss in groups and answered the questions in the worksheet. Then, the students discussed Task 3, 4, and 5.
While they were discussing the task, the researcher monitored them. The teacher also guided the students and corrected the wrong answers. Then, some of the
groups, Group 6 and 3, reported their answer to the whole class. In the post-reading activity, the teacher concluded the lesson. Then, the
researcher and the students did a reflection from the teaching and learning process that have been done. After that, the researcher gave them homework and stated
the topic for the next meeting. At last, the teacher said goodbye to the students.
