”. In the whilst-reading activity, the researcher distributed the student
‟s worksheets to each of groups. The student
‟s worksheet was in Appendix 13.a. Then, the researcher asked some of the students to read the text loudly, the title
was “
Cinderella
”. Then, the teacher gave a model to read the text correctly. After that, the teacher asked the students to discuss and answered the questions in the
worksheet. Then, the students discussed Task 3 and 4. While they were discussing the text, the writer monitored them. The teacher also guided the
students and corrected the wrong answers. Then, some of the groups reported their answer to the whole class.
In the post-reading activity, the teacher concluded the lesson. Then, the researcher and the students did reflection from the teaching and learning process
that have been done. At last, the teacher gave them homework and said goodbye.
b. The Second Meeting
The second meeeting was carried out on Saturday, April 24th, 2010. As usual the
English lesson started at 11.15 o‟clock. The reading text for the second meeting in Cycle 2 wa
s “
A Tour to Botanic Gardens by Nida
”. The researcher entered the class and greeted the students. The first activity was praying. After
that, the researcher checked the students‟ attendance. There were 31 students in the class, all of the students in class were present. They were 16 male and 15
female students. Before teaching, the researcher gave motivation to the students. The
researcher said that reading was an important activity for the students. By reading, they could find much information and enlarge their knowledge. Then, the

researcher explained the objective of the activity. Then, she divided the students into 8 groups.
In the pre-reading activity, the researcher introduced the reading text by giving some questions to the students to lead the theme and the title of the text.
The purpose was to activate their background knowledge. The researcher gave some questions to the students, they were: “

identify the generic structure, language feature, to find detail information about the text, etc. After that, the teacher asked the students to discuss in groups and
answered the questions in the worksheet. Then, the students discussed Task 3 and 4. While they were discussing the task, the researcher monitored them. The
teacher also guided the students and corrected the wrong answers. Then, some of the groups, Group 8 and 1, reported their answer to the whole class.
In the post-reading activity, the teacher concluded the lesson. The researcher and the students did a reflection from the teaching and learning process
that have been done. At last, the teacher gave them homework, stated the topic for the next meeting and said goodbye.
