After listing subject content, the writer started to select the teaching and learning activities and resources. The chosen activities were taken from many
sources, they were from some English textbooks, several books about games, internet, and also from research and information collecting.
In designing a good material, the activities should be varied. The purposes of the activities were to avoid the boredom and to attract the students so they
would have interest in learning English and enjoy the teaching-learning process. In the designed materials, the chosen activities such as observing pictures,
dialogues, matching pictures, completing words, playing games and many other activities were developed based on the discussion topic. Every activity in the
designed materials expected the students to be active, because they were asked to do an oral or written activity individually, in pairs, or in a group. The chosen
activities were used to support the students in mastering the English vocabulary and those were adapted to the students’ characteristics. The procedures of
teaching-learning activities of the designed materials were explained clearly in the teacher’s handbook and in the lesson plans which can be seen in the Appendices.
The learning activities of the designed materials can be seen in the table 4.5.
