The 10 most commonly managed problems in general practice in Australia were hypertension, immunisation, upper respiratory tract infection, depression, diabetes, lipid disorder, general check-up, osteoarthritis, back complaint and prescription request. 2 Closer to home, the top primary diagnoses seen in primary care clinics in Singapore were upper respiratory infection 13, essential hypertension 7, type 2 diabetes mellitus 6 and hyperlipidaemia 5. 3 • • • • • • • •
