request to stay, his parents’ divorce, and his decision about his father’s request. The external conflicts that Chick faces are included in zero-sum conflict. In this conflict,
one party sacrifices his interests. The zero-sum conflicts are between Chick and his mother, Chick and his ex-wife, and Chick and his sister.
The last conclusion is the resolutions to solve his problems. Accommodation and avoiding types are used to solve his internal conflicts. The accommodation style is
used to solve these conflicts: money investment, Chick’s divorce, Chick’s parents’ divorce, Chick’s decision about his father’s request. The avoiding style is used to
solve suicide and his mother’s request. Chick still uses accommodation and avoiding types to solve his external conflicts. He uses accommodation and avoiding types to
solve his conflicts with his mother. He uses avoiding type to solve his conflict with his ex-wife and his sister.
