MOODLE s layout is not only appealing to students sense of sight but also intrigue their artistic curiosity. The question on to personalize MOODLE to
suit students taste always appear as one of the favourites. As a direct result of becoming more aware technologically, students nowadays have become more
artistic, thus the thought of personalizing web page and sometimes content always appear in their mind. In her interview, Alina admits that she personalized her
MOODLE layout since she is not keen on visiting a bright colored websites, in order to satisfy her needs she customized the color of the layout into a darker
color. I think that is visually exciting but I dont like the major theme color of the
layout, but if you click the icon that shows splashes of color then you can customize it according to your taste. I prefer dark background color rather
than... AL-BEL-B33 Fortunately enough MOODLE provide such service to its users, both the
administrator and students alike. At first I see this as a sign of students being squeamish in terms of layout display, but after a series of contemplation I realized
that the students are only being critical to support their learning needs, that they are actually being appreciative towards MOODLE.
4.2.4 Accommodating Learning styles
The third emergent theme that I get was from the second participant named Lia. She is perhaps one of the few students who admittedly had some
personality complexes. She is not keen into losing her discretion in front of her classmates, in other words, she is always under the impression that she is mature
and must be resourcefull, she is keen on working individually and at times when

permissible work with friends. Similarly to the first participant she had a belief about learning and how to approach it.
I think its a good way to learn since we only focus on one aspect at the time and we dont have to worry about getting confused. Whenever I do my
work, I always do that, I always try to understand fully about one thing and then move to other thing AL-LS-C22
Genre based approach in writing 3 constitute stages and cycles, and Lia is
great fond of the approach since she its is done in detailed stages moreover the presence of MOODLE in writing 3 is a great help according to Lia.
The website is very easy to use and it is very convenient because it makes my study easier without worrying about submitting to the secretariat or
coming into class for submitting work. Other than the main materials used in class, I like to practice writing or making writing drafts in the practiced
page because it has the countdown timer. AL-LS-C39 Genre based approach with technology integration acts as an external
motivation that correlates with her cognitive style to learn writing text types. Although genre based approach provides some form of prescription to the
students but when it comes to writing their own text, students have the liberty to choose the topic or theme themselves as long as it reflects to the genre that they
are currently learning. For example Lia chose to write autobiography of important person that she knows, Lia would create some kind of writing map in her laptop to
generate ideas and she would try to link her logic using pointers. After brain storming with my friends, I always create some kind of map in
my laptop or in a piece of paper, most of the time lappy ....Yep, just like the outlining class but with arrows and bubbles. Heheh AL-LS-D27

This action reflects her needs for sequencing and detailed learning; furthermore the explained that she is a left sided brain that emphasizes more on her logic and
sequence learning. Lia is quiet clumsy when getting her work done, and with the availability of MOODLE she can overcome that problem she admitted that it has
been a problem for her since high school. She always try to include so many ideas in one piece of writing because she is so concern with the depth or the quality of
her writing, hence she came with a solution by creating a timeline, a continuum which functions as a regulator to remind her when to start and how much time she
had left. Yes, thats the main problem for me when writing. I think I have so
many things to share but maybe a but too much so most of the time I use my watch to remind me to just forget to try to relate everything and
put them in one writings. AL-LS-D29 This continuum mechanism seems to work well as there is improvement in
terms of time management. I perceive this as a sign of maturity to do well in class by creating a form system that suits her needs. This internal motivation, the
preference of timed writing and clear dateline is supported by MOODLE. Furthermore this is a reflection that Lia is not only identifying and noticing the
learning model but also consciously to engage and make use of it to enriched her knowledge and honed her writing skills Schmid: 1990.
In one of its great abilities to make life convenient for students and teachers alike, MOODLE provides a time management called the progress bar and
the inherently expected datelines notifications but when added a countdown timer plug in it served very well for students like Lia. The progress bar is a time-

management tool for students it exist to show progress on certain activities within a selected course, the progress bar is color coded to help students track their
progress or the completed activities and ordered by times or datelines in the course.
As mentioned before Lia sometimes have difficulties in time management when writing and in one of the MOODLE activities is the called the practice page
she gets to practice writing her text there on a limited time using the countdown plug in, usually for one hour. When finished, if she is satisfied with her work, she
can use that draft for her assignment or homework and submitted right away. It turns out that for Lia that it has been a great help for her since it accommodate her
learning styles that is preferred timed writing. Most of her assignments were the product of that practice page and apparently it helps Lia complete with her task by
making since it made her aware of the amount of study she had completed and consequently getting a better grade. I would see this as a way MOODLE to
accommodate ones learning style to improve writing skills.
4.2.5 Reducing academic procrastination
