The managers of the conservation area can then draft follow up plans based on the recommendations for improving management effectiveness. For government, the results of the conservation area management evaluation can be used as the basis for evaluating performance, which can then be used to give awards or mete out punishments for conservation area management. Awards Awards are given to management teams that have managed the conservation area effectively to graduate to the next level. The form the awards take will be regulated by the Director General of Marine, Coasts and Small Islands Areas. Punishments Punishments are meted out to management teams for not implementing the recommendations for a particular level within a certain timeframe, so there is no improvement in management performance and no subsequent change in level. The form the punishments will take will be regulated by the Director General of Marine, Coasts and Small Islands. 38 Technical Guidelines for Evaluating the Management Effectiveness of Aquatic, Coasts and Small Islands Conservation Areas E-KKP3K 38 Te ch ni ca l G ui de lin es fo r Ev al ua tin g th e M an ag em en t E ffe ct iv en es s of A qu at ic , C oa st s an d S m al l I sl an ds C on se rv at io n A re as E- K K P 3K 39 39 42
