9.3.2 Udon Thani

• Flood related data at Udon Thani provincial level has been collected from 2003 till July 2009. Certain data inconsistency along the seven years can be stressed. The number of events, the number of people and households affected, as well as the agricultural areas, roads, bridges affected, and the amount of economic loss are usually reported. For the years 2005 and 2006, the total number of buildings affected by flood events is known. • Drought data at Udon Thani provincial level is available from 2004 to July 2009. For each year the number of people affected as well as the number of households is reported. The amount of agricultural areas affected and the amount of economic loss is only stressed for the year 2005. • Tropical storm data has been collected from the Thai Meteorological Department at the provincial level. The number, type and name of events per year are reported. Only for the year 2009, until the month of July, the number of people and households affected as well as the amount of economic loss is available.

9.3.3 Phuket

• Flood related data is only available at provincial level for the years 2003 and 2004. The number of events, the number of people, households and buildings affected, as well as the agricultural areas, roads, bridges damaged, and the amount of economic loss are available. • Drought data is available from 2003 to 2007 at provincial level. No drought data is processed for the year 2008. The number of people and households affected are the only two parameters reported. • Tropical storm data has been collected from the Thai Meteorological Department at the provincial level. Only the number, type and name of events per year are reported. No information related to the impacts aftermath the tropical storm is processed. • Landslide related data is available from 2001 to 2008 and some details of the number of events and area affected at provincial level is reported. • Reports are available on monitoring the sea level rise and its potential effects on the coastal ecosystem of the island.
