Environment
Learning Objectives After learning this chapter, students understand the importance of environment and its
benefits for their daily lives.
The relationship between human and its environments is interesting. It is because human being has interrelated functions, roles, and positions. In the figure below, we can
observe sources of river pollution in Surabaya. The source of the pollution is mostly from industrial wastes. Such condition causes a decrease in the quality of water in rivers in
Surabaya. Therefore, a system of interaction between human being and other environmental elements is required. It is to create harmony and preservation for them to
survive. Are we aware that human being as one element of environment is also responsible to maintain its preservation?
