C. The Discussion on the Designed Set of Materials

This part comprises the results of the materials evaluation and the process of revising the designed set of materials. Due to the result of descriptive statistics, basically, the designed materials were good and acceptable. From the table of data presentation of the descriptive statistics, which was summated by the Likert scale, the mean score were in range between 3.6 up to 4. Thus, the writer drew a conclusion that the respondents agreed to the statements stated in the questionnaires, although some revisions were still needed. To come up with the best final version of the designed set materials, the writer made some improvements based on the respondents’ opinions as follows: 1 The writer revised the syllabus and lesson plan format into the KTSP format. The writer realized that the material design is for Senior High 73 School so that the writer should follow the procedure in making the syllabus and lesson plan based on Depdiknas. The writer writes the school, subject, class, standard competence and basic competence in lesson plan and syllabus. The writer also adds the evaluation table and time table in syllabus. 2 The time allocation for each activity was rearranged to be more effective. In Senior High School, 1 lesson hour takes 45 minutes. The writer changes the time, it was from 1x65 minutes into 2x45 minutes. This is because there were students who needed a longer time to understand the text being read. 3 The writer gives the clear instructions so that the students do not feel confused in doing the task. 4 The writer changes the irrelevant option in some activities which is not suitable with the goals. The writer still maintains the previous whilst-reading activities since they were already varied. The writer had already used some pictures and images to create the materials more interesting. Last but not least, the writer also must check the grammar, because grammar is the crucial one because a teacher must be good example in the subject that heshe teaches. 74

D. The Presentation of the Designed Set of Materials
