Participant 6
Dealing with disrespectful students was my biggest problem, I think. Maybe they thought that I was not their real teacher, so it was okay not
to follow my instructions and not to listen to my explanation. I had problems in handling those students. I usually consulted my problem
immediately to my guru pamong to gain suggestion from him.
3. In your opinion, what are the possible solutions to solve these problems
below?
a. There are some students who are always busy with their own activities
busy with their gadgets, working on the homework of another subject.
Participant 1
If those busy students are doing that in a group work, the teacher may approach those students to remind them to focus on their
work that is assigned to be done. But if those busy students are doing that in the lecturing process, teacher may use their gesture
such putting his finger in his mouth to signal an order to keep silent or the teacher may warn the students directly from the front.
Participant 2
A practice teacher may ask the students directly what they are doing with their gadgets first. Then he can directly check too. If
those students still keep doing their own activities, the practice teacher may ask their students to move to the front row. And the
practice teacher may involve them more in the classroom activities by asking them some questions related to the lesson.

Participant 3
I will call the name of those busy students to then ask them to come in front and I usually will ask them to share what they are
doing with their friends.
Participant 4
At the beginning of the class, a practice teacher may give his students 5 up to 10 minutes to finish all their activities and be
prepared for the lesson. So, when a practice teacher comes to a class, it may be better not to start the class directly. Maybe he
needs to give his students some minutes to be ready for the lesson and then he can make a commitment with the students that they
will focus only on the lesson after they finish everything.
Participant 5
Based on my experience during my PPL, I found some students who were always busy with their own activities like talking to each
other and some other things, I usually approached them, and then I tried to directly talk to them that they should stop their activities
and I asked them to be focused on the learning activities.
Participant 6
I usually warned my students that were busy with their own activities directly. I gave my warning three times at the maximum.
If they still did their own activities then I just let it be.
