d. The practice teachers do not know how to get all of his students to
actively participate in all classroom activities.
Participant 1
If there is only one or two student who are not willing to participate in the class activities, a practice teacher may ask him
first before making any judgment or giving a punishment to that student. But to encourage all students to actively participate in all
activities, the practice teacher may use a strategy of giving a reward to those who like to participate. That can be an option to
solve the problem.
Participant 2
A practice teacher may give any activities that require students‟ participation like a role play for the speaking class, for example.
So, by providing materials that increase students‟ motivation, a practice teacher may have a higher possibility of having all
students actively participate in the classroom.
Participant 3
A practice teacher should provide interactive and communicative teaching activities in the classroom. He also should control the
class regularly to check whether or not the students follow the activities.
Participant 4
A practice teacher may point some of his students to answer some questions, to read stories, news, or any teaching materials. By
doing this, a practice teacher may indirectly ask the students to actively participate in the all classroom activities.

It is a bit difficult in my opinion to invite all the students to actively participate. Well, based on my experience, I just kept
doing my activities because usually there were two or three of 35 students who did not want to participate actively. By doing that,
the inactive students would gradually join the other students who were active.
Participant 6
Well, it is quite hard in my opinion. But if a
mahasiswa PPL
can understand the characteristics of the class in which he or she
teaches, maybe he or she can adjust learning activities that are appropriate to be applied in each class.
e. Students are not well-motivated to follow the lesson at the last hours
