slogan [15], the Ericsson mobile phone slogan takes the phrase form under the gerund phrase classification because it consists of the word “taking” as verb-ing
and “you forward” as complement.
4. Adjective Phrase
[16] HTC: “Quietly Brilliant” An adjective phrase is a group of words including an adjective and its
compliments or modifier that functions as an adjective Warriner, 1982, p.92. Another example can be found in slogan [16] HTC: “Quietly Brilliant”. The
slogan HTC is an adjective phrase, consisting of “Brilliant” as adjective and the head and “quietly” as pre modifier.
5. Prepositional Phrase
A prepositional phrase is a group of words that contain no verb and begin

A sentence is a group of words expressing a complete thought, it is a grammatical unit of one or more words that expresses independent statements,
questions, requests, commands, and exclamations Warriner, 1982:95. He states that a sentence begins with a capital letter and concludes with an end mark, a
period, a question mark or an exclamation point. Every sentence has its classifying sentence to make it easy to understand. The sentences may be
classified according to their purpose. There is one kind of sentence that was found
in the mobile phones’ slogan and it is a declarative sentence. Analysis shows that the most common data of the English slogan in mobile phone advertisements is in
the form of declarative sentence. A declarative sentence is a sentence that the subject and predicate have
normal order. A declarative sentence is making a statement that is followed by a period Warrnier 1982:20. The slogan of the product which is categorized into a
declarative sentence is used for delivering the brand’s messages about the product. The English slogans that take the declarative sentence form are as follows:

has a subject and a predicate. Then, a declarative sentence is used by Sony Ericsson [21] “Make.Believe”. The form of Sony Ericson’s is a sentence. The

persuading is one of the most important functions of advertising. A declarative sentence or a simple statement is the most frequently used in advertisements.
Well-composed statements will give the readers a very deep impression. As mentioned before, the aim of advertising is to arouse the consumers’
