A. Adoption

The Maritime Safety Committee, at its eightieth session May 2005 adopted, by resolution MSC.19680, in accordance with article VIIIbiv of the Convention, amendments to the International Code for the Security of Ships and of Port Facilities ISPS Code.

B. Entry into force

In accordance with article VIIIbvi2bb of the Convention, and as determined by the Maritime Safety Committee, the amendments shall enter into force on 1 January 2009, unless, prior to 1 July 2008, more than one-third of the Contracting Governments to the Convention or Contracting Governments the combined merchant fleets of which constitute more than fifty per cent of the gross tonnage of the world’s merchant fleet, have notified their objections to the amendments. No such objection was received, and the amendments will accordingly enter into force on 1 January 2009. 70 2005 Resolution A.74418 Amendments MSC.19780 A. In accordance with article VIIIbvi of the Convention, and as determined by the Maritime Safety Committee, the amendments shall enter into force on 1 July 2010, unless, prior to 1 January 2010, more than one- third of the Contracting Governments to the Convention or Contracting Governments, the combined merchant fleets of which constitute more than fifty per cent of the gross tonnage of the world’s merchant fleet, have notified their objection to the amendments.
