It caused him great loss. However, the farmer decided to stop the fight with the snake. He brought food and honey to the mouth of its lair, and said to it, “Let’s forget and forgive. Perhaps you were right to punish my son, and take revenge on my cattle, but surely I was right in trying to revenge him. Now that we are both satisfied, why should not we be friends again?” “No, no,” said the snake. “Take away your gifts. You can never forget the death of your son, nor I the loss of my tail. Injuries may be forgiven, but nor forgotten.” The Legend of Banyuwangi Once upon a time, there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo. The king had a Prime Minister named Raden Sidopekso. The Prime Minister had a wife named Sri Tanjung. She was so beautiful that the king wanted her to be his wife. One day, the King sent his Prime Minister to a long mission. While the Prime Minister was away, the King tried to get Sri Tanjung. However he failed. He was very angry. Thus, when Sidopekso went back, the King told him that his wife was unfaithful to him. The Prime Minister was very angry with his wife. Sri Tanjung said that it was not true. However, Sidopekso said that he would kill her. He brought her to the river bank. Before he kill her and threw her into the river, she said that her innocence would be proven. After Sidopekso killed her, he threw her dead body into the dirty river. The river immediately became clean and began to spread a wonderful fragrance. Sidopekso said, “Banyu…Wangi…Banyuwangi”. This means “fragrant water”. G. Langkah-langkah Kegiatan Pembelajaran

a. Kegiatan Pendahuluan

Apersepsi :  Mengkondisikan kelas, mempersipkan keadaan kelas, berdo’a, mengucapkan salam, meminta siswa untuk duduk yang teratur, memeriksa kehadiran siswa, menanyakan kabar siswa. Motivasi :  Menjelaskan pentingnya materi yang akan dipelajari dan mengkaitkannya dengan kehidupan nyata.

b. Kegiatan Inti

Eksplorasi Dalam kegiatan eksplorasi:  Guru memberikan sebuah teks narrative kepada siswa,  Siswa diminta mengamati contoh teks narrative yang diberikan oleh guru, dan  Guru bertanya kepada siswa mengenai teks narrative yang diberikan. What do you think we are going to find out? or Why do you think this is important to your life? or What can we do with this or our new information?  Guru memberikan penjelasan singkat mengenai narrative text dan mengkaitkannya dengan kehidupan nyata.  Siswa dan guru mengidentifikasikan berbagai informasi, fungsi komunikatif, generic structure, dan ciri kebahasaan teks narrative.  Guru memfasilitasi peserta didik memahami lebih lanjut tentang detail apa saja yang biasa muncul ketika memahami narrative text. Elaborasi Dalam kegiatan elaborasi:  Setelah membahas narrative text, guru memulai pembelajaran reading dengan memperkenalkan strategi Question Generation Strategy dalam reading.  Guru menjelaskan konsep dari Question Generation Strategy dalam reading narrative text.  Guru menjelaskan manfaat menggunakan Question Generation Strategy dalam reading narrative text.  Guru menjelaskan kapan dan bagaimana langkah-langkah menggunakan Question Generation Strategy dalam reading narrative text.  Guru juga menjelaskan beberapa skill yang harus dimiliki siswa terlebih dahulu sebelum menerapkan Question Generation Strategy, seperti contohnya; membuat pertanyaan dalam bentuk WH-Question dan menemukan informasi-informasi penting,
