how Melania Trump is very certain with what she says. Melania Trump is sure that Donald Trump is moved by his great honor. By uttering this sentence, the
writer argues that Melania Trump tries to inform the audiences that Donald Trump is moved by something good, great honor. Logically, people will vote the best
person. Thus, the notion of self promotion can be seen through good quality figure that is projected by the speaker by telling good values of Donald Trump to the
audiences. This also happens in sentence M.12. Melania Trump says that Donald
Trump is the only one who is able to deliver it. This sentence also shows that Donald Trump is the most proper person to lead America. It can be seen through
the speaker‟s utterance that Donald Trump is the only one who is able to deliver it. This short sentence reveals that Melania Trump tries to promote Donald Trump
by telling the ability. In sentence M.24, the modality is included as potentiality. However,
Lock 1995 states that potentiality may happen because of someone ability. In sentence M.24, Melania Trump tries to tell the commitment that Donald Trump
and she will ensure the child to get their rights. One of those commitments is enable them to live in comfort and security. The modal employed is can, and it
shows potentiality. What is tried to say by Melania Trump is that Donald Trump is the one that is able to make it potential. Again, this sentence shows self
promotion. By telling the ability, it is assumed that Americans will choose him.
Thus, the writer concludes that the type of potentiality and ability emphasize the self promotion.
2. Ideologies in Ivanka Trump’s Campaign Speech
Based on the data of the result of the first problem formulation, the writer finds out that there are two ideologies also that are delivered by Ivanka Trump.
Each of those will be discussed as follow.
a. Commitment
This ideology is found from the employment of inclination. There are 11 inclinations found in the speech. After the analysis of the first problem
formulation, the writer finds out that nine of the inclinations are categorized as high level. As mentioned in the theoretical chapter, high level of inclination
expresses determination. From all of the sentences applying high level of inclination, the writer discovers that eight of the sentences has the subject he. In
this context, he refers to Donald Trump. It can be said that Ivanka Trump tries to tell the audiences about Donald Trump‟s commitment. The examples are provided
below. I.14table 4.10 As president, my father will change the labor laws that were
put into place at a time when women were not a significant portion of the workforce.
I.17table 4.10 He will fight for equal pay for equal work. I.27table 4.10 He will fight for you all the time, all the way, every time.
In I.14, Ivanka Trump says that her father, Donald Trump, determines to change the labor laws if he is elected as the president. The determination insists
a strong desire that can also be called as a commitment to change the labor law.
In I.17, Ivanka Trump also uses the modality to tell the determination of the subject he which refers to Donald Trump also. In this sentence, Ivanka Trump
says that Donald Trump determines to fight for equal pay and work. In the discussion of the first problem formulation, it is already concluded that this modal
is a high level of inclination. It can be said that this sentence shows that Donald Trump commits to fight for the equal pay and work for all of Americans.
The same explanation with the previous sentence can be found in I.27. The subject that is used is still he. The modal is also included as high level of
inclination. by uttering this sentence, Ivanka Trump tries to say that Donald Trump determines to also fight for you contextually, it refers to the audiences all
the time. This also shows the commitment of Donald Trump towards Americans. Only based on the three examples, the writer is able to conclude that the
employment of high level of inclination is to express Donald Trump‟s commitment. However, there is a sentence found in the speech that the high level
of inclination is also used to express the speaker commitment. It can be seen from the sentence that uses subject I and employs high level of inclination. The
sentences are provided below. I.18table 4.10 And I will fight for this too, right along side of him.
The sentence above means that the speaker determines to fight along side of him Donald Trump. This shows her commitment also to fight for equal pay
and equal work. To sum up, the high level of inclinations are employed to project the speaker‟s and also Donald Trump‟s commitment.
b. Self Promotion
