In the statement [23], Hillary spoke it loud at the end of the video. At that time, the presenter of the talk show, Haass, said about something funny that she
might want to swear. Unfortunately, Haass’ words were inaudible. So, the researcher just heard the last sentence of Hillary in the last second. In the other
side, statement [24] shows that Hillary was infuriated hearing the cases of ISIS that were easily kill others without feeling guilt. In the statement [25], Hillary was
shocked because she was asked by Krisstarah to describe herself in three words. The similarity of those statements is that Hillary tried to avoid saying strong
swear words that might be able to express her feelings at that time. It was a must because she spoke as a good leader and she should show good behaviors,
including in speech.
B. Hillary’s Absent Features
In this subchapter, the researcher will discuss about the features that were not used by Hillary Clinton in her utterances. It is because there are only eight
features that appeared within Hillary speeches and interviews in the selected videos. Therefore, there are two features that did not appear at all in the selected
videos. They are tag questions and precise color terms. In the selected videos, the researcher did not find tag question feature.
The researcher assumed that Hillary did not use this feature because when she gave her messages or ideas about some discussed-topics, she was confident and
really sure about what she wanted to say. Then, she did not need to clarify her PLAGIAT MERUPAKAN TINDAKAN TIDAK TERPUJI
statements by using tag question whether it was right or wrong. So, Hillary did not use this feature at all in her utterances within selected videos.
Then, another feature that did not appear in the selected video is precise color terms. The researcher deduced that it might because there was no relation
between the topics that were discussed with a particular color. Almost all the topics of the selected videos were about political issues that happened within
some countries, like security issues in The United State of America itself or about ISIS in Iraq.
