important because he thought that suppose he does not know about the language choice, especially the language choice in Resimen Mahasiswa may be in his period it
will not running well. So that, he must know the way to speak as a commandant. Beside that, it is also occur to the members. As a members appreciate with the
command of commandant is a thing that must to do, there is not the reason to ignore it.
The members should be know the way to speak with the commandant as members, because as proper the members to appreciate the leader, especially in army
life. A command from the commandant is something that can not be bargain. It is not just commandant to members, members to commandant but it also occurs in
members to members. The application of language choice is very important, especially amongst members. The participant, setting, and topic also the basic factors
that can influence the language choice for every person. To whom we speak, and the location concern is needed to know well for make the conversation can be
understood. The relationship between commandant to members, members to commandant,
and amongst members on the language choice can be found in Resimen Mahasiswa. They use language choice in daily communication which is suitable in Resimen
Mahasiswa, it is also appropriate with the norm or rule in Resimen Mahasiswa. Before become commandant the language manners are free, however it still
within the scope of the language in the Resimen Mahasiswa, it is not out of the rules in Resimen Mahasiswa. Before becomes a commandant speak amongst members

more comfortable, easier, more loose it means not too careful to talk and no need to pay attention in terms of the disappointment of relationships amongst members.
Before becoming a commandant, speaking style like a student, outside official of Resimen Mahasiswa activities, but at the activities time the language remains free
within the limits of the rules and norm of Resimen Mahasiswa such as the use of language permit ‘izin’, yes ‘siap’. To the junior, the speaking style remains familiar,
clearly, and educate. When become a commandant, all of these things become changed directly,
which it needs to keep the feeling of members, amongst members, and other senior ranks. To delivered the language was not like when speak before become a
commandant. When become a commandant the language used was more inclined which to make get closer to the members of the goal for what is delivered or ordered
to them better to enforce and not only see the I just as a commandant, but what is delivered to them the members they can take it easy and understand it. Because to
be a good leader is understand the characters all of the members for make the implementation of activities in Resimen Mahasiswa can be done well.
After become a commandant, speaking style remains familiar and dignity. Familiar with the levels and certain restrictions. This is to recognize the characters
and style of language as what to appropriate for each individual, so that the aims and objectives can be achieved.
Relations between members to commandant, as members they are ready to implement the command of commandant. The relations of language are use the polite
language, direct, and not carelessly talk especially in Resimen Mahasiswa environment, they know how to speak with good speech which is suitable with the
language they get and learn in the Resimen Mahasiswa. Everything to be conveyed

by the members to commandant can not directly facing the commandant, but through the existing of staff in the ranks of the Resimen Mahasiswa scope. In case in the
meeting which was attended by commandant, each members can express directly an opinion about a thing in the form of Resimen Mahasiswa activity or the others.
Relationships amongst member certainly is not same as members to commandant, in relation amongst members they tend to be more free to submit
language or to talk, because they are fellow members, especially if they are one generation, so that when they speak, they use language which is beyond with the
Resimen Mahasiswa and in the Resimen Mahasiswa environment that ever applied to them, it does not emphasize the discipline of language, in other words not forget the
rules in Resimen Mahasiswa to maintain familiarity amongst members. Sometimes each member, if they are mutually speak or deliver use a formal language of Resimen
Mahasiswa, sometimes other members regard as a senior already.
B. The reasons why Resimen Mahasiswa using language choice in daily
communication.
Reasons to use the existing language in the Resimen Mahasiswa, is not independent of someone who participated in the organization that they choose,
automatically they are required to follow the rules that exist in the organization. Including environmental influences as well, because they have entered a new
environment so that they automatically have to adjust themselves in it, it is also want to add a new experience and knowledge in the field of semi-military.

C. The effects of joining Resimen Mahasiswa towards members in language
choice.
Many things affect obtained after becoming a Resimen Mahasiswa one of them, is discipline on language will change, because the organization of Resimen
Mahasiswa has a typical in speaking, the characterizes of it that must be followed by every members of the Resimen Mahasiswa.
Discipline language also have change, because the language habits of the Resimen Mahasiswa. Language manners also will be familiar in the Resimen
Mahasiswa, after joining in it. Effects also will be arising in the outside world or job world, when we are struggling in an organization it must be a habit acquired in the
organization as well. When we choose to follow the organization, of course, we are ready in all things, especially the language of Resimen Mahasiswa. Placement and
adjustment to use a language will be obtained. For example, the rules of language in the Resimen Mahasiswa will be applied not only in the office later, but also in the
family, friendships, relationships and becomes a habit in everyday life. Effect obtained to self: discipline language, speaking manners, firmness in
the language, and the authority will also can be applied when apply the world of employment. Have leadership, courage to speak and to act, and to give a decision
with the polite language in it, have a strong cooperative spirit, has a consciousness in respect of seniority, have the knowledge of organization, both in respective on duties
and functions in each management bodies.

BAB V CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
5.1 Conclusion
From the analysis in chapter IV, about the relationship between commandant to members, members to commandant, and amongst members of Resimen Mahasiswa,
the writer conclude that language choice used by commandant and members in Resimen Mahasiswa is very significant and positive.
The awareness about language choice actually is so significant and running well of the members and commandant. It was proven by the questionnaire that has
already distributed to 15 members of Resimen Mahasiswa of University of Sumatera Utara and the result shown that between the commandant and members mostly
totally do the language choice in daily communication, and they realize that the language choice also has any effect in their daily communication life since they
joining in Resimen Mahasiswa. The commandant and members choose the particular language at formal or informal occasion.
Based on the data analysis in the previous chapters, the writer also found: factors of choosing those languages are participant, setting, norms based on the
theory of Dell Hymes. For the explanation of participant, all those members in those tables are the participant of this research. Then for the explanation of setting, they
choose the particular language in their daily communication in Resimen Mahasiswa which it is one of the part of setting. The last is norm, the members realize that the
norm of speaking is must know when want to talk. To whom we speak is needed to

know to make the communication running well and make it understand is one of the factor of language choice.
And finally, the writer found that there is effect in commandant and members after joining Resimen Mahasiswa. They prefer to choose the particular language in
their daily communication in Resimen Mahasiswa. And the effect that they get after joining in Resimen Mahasiswa towards language choice their discipline on language
have change, because the organization of Resimen Mahasiswa has a typical in speaking and also the language habits of the Resimen Mahasiswa, the effects also
occurs in the office later, such as the courage to speak and act. After have seen the using of language in Resimen Mahasiswa is mostly the
members using particular language to the others members and also to the commandant based on the questionnaire. The unique term in this context is, the most
language communication in Resimen Mahasiswa in this context is particular language, even though they are in informal circumstances in daily communication.
5.2 Suggestion
Through this thesis, the writer finds that nowadays language choice is very important.
The responds between the commandant and members or the samples are the reflection of the way some people speak now, especially in army life.
The writer hopes that between the commandant and members have a good language choice, not just
commandant or members, but both of them must have a good language choice. So that it can create a good conversation in daily communication especially in Resimen
Mahasiswa. Language choice effect can possibly take part of other language skill. So, hopefully this thesis will be useful not only to those who want to more deeply
