77 1 Descriptive Statistics of the Evaluation
The results of the materials evaluation were presented in terms of descriptive statistics. In this research, the researcher used five points agreements
to as sess the respondents’ opinions on the designed materials. They were:
1 = Absolutely Disagree 2 = Disagree
3 = Doubt 4 = Agree
5 = Absolutely Agree The data are presented in table 4.4 using the variables of the respondents’
opinions, the number of respondents N, the mean i.e. central tendency of the set of the scores Mn, the median i.e. the middle point that occurs in the set of the
scores Med, and the modes, i.e. the scores that occurs most frequently in the set of the scores Md.

The data of the questionnaire showed that the tendency of the respondents’ opinions towards each statement of the questions was positive. The result showed
that most of the scores were more than 4. It meant that most respondents agreed that the designed materials were acceptable and appropriate to be implemented.
However, there were two points that were less than 4 and needed to be considered. The two points were 1 the level of difficulty of the exercises in the materials and
2 the variation of the types of exercises and activities. 2 Respondents’ Comments on the Designed Materials
The researcher provided some spaces for respondents to give their opinions, comment and suggestions. There were some comments given by the
respondents on the designed materials, in terms of the strengths and weaknesses. According to the respondents, the designed materials had some strengths as in the
following: - The materials were written completely and systematically.
- The step of each activity was explained clearly and they were easy to follow. - The reading materials chosen were good and interesting for students.
- All competencies and indicators were explained clearly in the lesson plan. - The materials were very complete and appropriate for the students to improve
