RESEARCH SETTING RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

response rate, checking the response bias if questionnaire are used, and preparing the data for analysis by coding the information from the instruments into a computer file. The seventh step was analyzing data to address the research questions. The data analysis procedures reflected the types of research questions the researcher planned to address in the study. Analysis consist of noting response rates, converting, tabulating, conducting descriptive analysis of all items, and then answering descriptive questions. It involved testing research questions using inferential statistics. In this step, the researcher conducted quasi experimental analysis. Quasi experimental analysis is used since the researcher used control and experimental groups but does not randomly assign participants to groups. To conduct quasi experimental analysis, the researcher applied quasi experimental procedures from Creswell 2012. The first was identify the type of experimental design to be used in the proposed study. The second was identify what is being compared in the experiment. The third was g ather students‟ scores gathered from diagnostic vocabulary tests. The fourth was give treatment to experimental group. The sixth was conduct post test. The last procedure was analyze the data using inferential statistics. Posttest-Only Design Time Figure 3.2. Actually, the steps were taken from together with doing the first step. The researcher wrote the survey study using a standard mixed method that consist of an introduction, the review of literature, the methods, the results, the discussion and the conclusion. Table 3.1 Research Timeline Creswell’s Steps of Survey Research 1. Decide if a Survey is the Best Design to Use 2. Identify the Research Questions or Hypotheses 3. Identify the Population and the Sample 4. Determine the Survey Design and Data collection procedures 5. Develop or locate an instrument 6. Administer the instrument 7. Asking for Permission 8. Interview 9. Analyze the Data to Address the Research Questions or Hypotheses 10. Write the report The research schedule was conducted related to the Creswell‟s step of survey research. Every step was accomplished systematically. However, the last step was done together with the first step since the research had to write the progress related to what happened in the field.
