the terminal manned by the teacher. Hammer 2007 says that modern systems allow teachers to join booth in pairs or groups, irrespective of their position in the laboratory, by monitoring them on the screen. The school has used IPALL as the English teaching media before. Therefore, it was one of interesting media for students when learning English. This research was conducted during a semester from the beginning until the end of the first semester of class X. This research was conducted from November 2014 to March 2015. During this semester, the students had used IPALL as one of the media in learning vocabulary. The researcher conducted this research during a certain period of time considering that it needed time to see how students practiced their vocabulary learning adopted in IPALL.

D. RESEARCH PROCEDURE

In this research, the researcher did several steps to accomplish the systematic steps of survey research. The steps were taken from Creswell‟s steps in conducting survey research Creswell, 2013 : 403-404. Decide if A Survey is the Best Design to Use Identify the Research Questions or Hypotheses Identify the Population, the Sampling Frame and the Sample Determine the Survey Design and Data Collection Procedures Figure 3.1. The Steps in Conducting Survey Research Creswell, 2013: 403-404 The first step of survey research was deciding if a survey was the best design to use. After realizing that the researcher had to administer the research in a short time, the researcher decided to conduct survey research. First, survey research was economical as a means of data collection. After that, Creswell 2013 stated that by conducting survey research, a researcher could reach a geographically population. In this study, the researcher discovered and described the students‟ vocabulary learning strategies adopted in IPALL. The second step was identifying the research questions. Actually, two research questions were formulated in this research. However, the third research question was added to support the finding of this research. The first and the second research questions were planned to be the basic of the instruments to describe the characteristics or trends such as the frequency of students‟ vocabulary learning strategies adopted in IPALL. Then, the third research question was planned to be the basic of the quasi experimental research. The quasi experimental reserch, here, was for comparing group in terms of specific attributes Creswell, 2003. The comparison was the students‟ score before and after adopted in IPALL between the same and different class.
